Karen Yancey Fifteen years experience teaching a variety of courses at New Castle Correctional Facility. Currently teaching ABE/HSE and Logistics CLA/CLT. B.S.ChE from Purdue; M.S. in Secondary Education from USI. Previously taught high school science and mathematics and chemistry and computer courses for Ivy Tech.

Adult Education students arrive in our classrooms without previous interactions with many of their classmates. This presentation will demonstrate a number of activities that can be used to facilitate building connections between relative strangers on the first day of a new class and beyond.
