John Heppner MBA, EdD previously worked in higher education for over ten years. Mr. Heppner has spent the last three years working with education in corrections with his most recent role as an education site manager. His doctorate was on under-resourced adult learners’ perspectives; he brings this research with him to discuss their implications to teach adult learners in corrections.
Adult learners come to school with various learning styles. Many adult learners also come to school with limited tools/skills in financial, emotional, spiritual and other resources. Understanding the audience as we attempt to teach is valuable in creating strong classroom outcomes. The class will consist of lecture and open discussion on this topic.
