Mike Thombleson has worked in adult education for the past 16 years in corrections. He is currently employed as the Northern Regional Coordinator with Ivy Tech Community College.
In addition, he has taught middle school, high school, and college level math classes and holds a master’s degree in mathematics from Indiana State University.
Mathematics is governed by rules and for a student to be successful in math, he/she must make a connection with the rules. It has been my observation that students struggle with math because they confuse math rules, do not build on them, or just do not know the rules. It is the objective of this presentation for instructors to help students learn and use the math rules.
